Recipe #8

This weeks delicious recipe is supplied by Lousette, who was inspired by the simple graphic layout and the use of text as a design feature on this record cover.  The large and colourful alphabets draw the eye in to focus on the smaller, black and white photograph.
Here's what the cooks did this week, we can't wait to see how this cover inspires you.  Don't forget to leave a link to your project in order for you to be eligible for this months prize draw sponsored by

Recipe #7

Childrens books have fantastic illustrations which can be used as a springboard for our creative efforts. This weeks recipe is supplied by Andrea and taken from the well known childrens story of the "The Princess and the Pea".
The cooks had a lot of fun working with this recipe, some taking inspiration from the layers, some from the colours and some including the theme as in Heathers sleepy lil' princess layout.

Don't forget everyone who plays along with the challenges this month will be eligible to enter the August prize draw sponsored by Pickleberry Papercrafts.

Recipe #6

Welcome to August everyone, presenting out first recipe for the month provided by our international chef Heather.

How will you be inspired by this? Will you be drawn to the scalloped edges? to the soft femine colours? or will you use the placement of the image and fonts as the basis for your layout or card? We look forward to seeing what you all create. As always we'd love for you to leave comments on this thread for a chance to win a prize by this month's sponsor Pickleberry Papercrafts.

Recipe #4

Welcome to this weeks inspiration soup fans - the front over of a book one of our chefs recently read. With the summer holidays upon us many will be reaching for a novel or two to pack into our cases for some relaxing in the sun. If you are a Twilight fan, we recommend these novels by Rachel Vincent which tell the tale of a headstrong female Werewolf with a sprinkling of romance thrown in. They are easy to read and with a great storyline they make perfect summer holiday novel. Will you be inspired by the yellow, grey, black colour scheme of this book cover? Or perhaps the grungy distressed edges will draw your attention? Is there a book in your own collection whose front cover could kick start your creative juices flowing this weekend?

Take a look at the cards, layouts and ATCs created by our Chefs this week, and let us know what you create. Next week will be our final recipe for July and all creations inspired by any of our first five recipes will be entered into the draw to win a prize from our sponsors A Trip Down Memory Lane. Leave a comment on the relevant post - can't wait to see what you all create.

Until next week!!

Recipe #3

Album covers are always a good source of design inspiration, like this one we have used as our Recipe number 3!  The masses of white space with just the small band of colour really draws your eyes to the 3 photographs down the side.  See how members of the DT have used this layout as inspiration for their projects this week, and don't forget to show us your interpretations (not just because we're nosey but also for a chance to be entered in the prize draw sponsored by A Trip Down Memory Lane)
