Recipe #27 & Welcome Alana Harrod

Welcome to this most blustery Friday evening across most of the UK! We sure hope you are tucked up in the warm and looking forward to the weekend ahead.
Before we go ahead and share with you our recipe for inspiration this week we would like to introduce an addition to the ChickenSoup Design team - a very warm welcome to Alana Harrod.

Alana undertook a guest design team spot for us last year when we ran our 12 days of Christmas challenges and we loved her work so much we have asked to join us and are very pleased that she accepted. More of her crafting work can be found on her creative blog so be sure to pop on over and get to know her!

This week we bring you a recipe that Mel found for us with plenty of scope for inspiring your next crafting project.

And here are the design team projects for this week.

Mel focused on the grid pattern to create a holiday memory page

Alana created a set of Calendar Girl ATCs inspired by one of the grid images.

Ann also focused on the grid pattern to inspire her fun layout, as well as the vibrant colours in this weeks recipe.

Last up this week is Annette with her super lovely card also focusing on the grid style of this weeks recipe.

How will you be inspired? Will the grid style kickstart your next project, or maybe one of the images? Maybe the loveable Mickey Mouse? Be sure to share with us your card, layout or indeed whatever you create - we love to see them! Until next week crafty friends!

Recipe #26

Apologies for the delay in posting this week's recipe, slight technical hitch but we're all fixed now!

Hope you will enjoy playing along with us again this week. As always this challenge is open to everyone who stumbles across it, no need to be a member of any group or forum to join in. The idea as always is that you use the image each week to inspire or kickstart your next crafting project, be it a scrapbook layout, a card, a piece of altered art, a bookmark, a painting - anything goes.

So here is your inspiration this week - recipe #26.

Three of the ChickenSoup design team created a little something based on this image and we bring you a card, a layout and a set of tags this week.

First up is Kate who has shares the products used and some additional close up images of her project on her blog - pop over to Pickleberry for more information.

Christine was inspired by the colours of the image this week and created this pretty layout.

Finally this week Ann dug out her ink and stamps to create a card inspired by the image this week. She drew her inspiration from the grid background and the colours.

Have fun creating this week and we look forward to welcoming you back again next Friday when, in addition to unveiling another recipe, we will be introducing a new member to the design team. See you then, and as always, please shaare your creations with us leaving a comment and link to this post.

Recipe #24

Here we are again with recipe #24, and Ann has chosen this weeks image for us. It is full of soft, subtle colours, silhouettes and distressed outlines - lots to inspire you!

Our cooks were all very inspired by the colours and shapes in the image, as well as the layout of the design, and while the end product was different in each case, you can clearly see the link between them all. Lets take a look at what they came up with.

First up is Ann, who was inspired by the colours and floral silhouettes to create this very elegant card:

Annette loved the colours and simple floral shapes too and created another beautiful card:

Christine was again inspired by the floral images and silhouettes to create this crisp classy card:

Kate liked the colours and the layout of the image and used those to create this fun and cheerful card:

Louise was inspired by the flower shapes and created these fab pinwheel flowers for her card.

As always be sure to post a comment linking to your creations in order that we can enter you into our monthly prize draw. How will YOU be inspired by this weeks recipe? Get crafting SOUPers!

Recipe #23

HAPPY NEW YEAR CRAFTERS and welcome to the first ChickenSoup recipe for 2011. Do you like our new year, passing of time, clock theme to kick start the year?

We hope you are feeling nice and crafty this Friday and haven't missed us too much during our little break over the holidays. If you have, worry not we are back now every Friday with an inspirational image to hopefully inspire your next crafting project. If you are new to the site, welcome! We upload an image every Friday between 7-8pm GMT from which you can draw inspiration from for your next crating project, be this a layout, a card, an altered item, an ATC, anything goes! and we love to see your creations.

Let's take a look at how our designers were inspired this week.
First up Ann, who drew her inspiration from both the colours of the recipe and the clock.

Annette, who chose the image for this weeks recipe, focused on the colours to create this fab zingy card.

Christine was also inspired by the colours and creates a completely different looking layout to Ann's above. Isn't it great how one image can inspire such totally different and unique pages?

Clare was also inspired by the colours, the clock and the 'time' element to create this layout - once again completely different to the previous layouts this week.

How will you be inspired?
Before we go, yesterday (January 6th) was the last day to share your 12 days of Christmas SOUPer creations with us. We have loved browsing through the gallery and hope you have too, and we will announce winners next week!! Until then, Have a SOUPer crafty week xx

On the 12th day of Christmas

Insert sad face here as we bring you our final day of Christmas Inspiration. Don't forget you have until 12th night, that is January 6th to play along with all 12 of the recipe's we have provided over these last 12 days. We will then be back on Friday January 7th with our first recipe for 2011.

And so without further ado, let us reveal the final recipe for festive crafting inspiration.
All I want for Christmas... that is the challenge for today, and here are the creation our designers were inspired to share. We were joined again by the lovely Sue Jones on this recipe and she created this "All we want for Christmas" layout.

Louise created a photo-less layout documenting her wish list for the holidays this year.

Kate made a lovely card for a significant other.

Using the same title as Kate did on her card Ann created this very seasonal page for today.

Well that concludes our 12 days of Christmas - all that remains is for us to wish you a very Happy Christmas
