Recipe #34 and a chance to win a guest DT Spot

WELCOME CHICKENSOUP FOLLOWERS!

We sure hope you have had a nice week and managed to enjoy the sunshine that seems to have graced us with it's lovely presence this week. As promised last week we are offering you a chance to win a guest design team spot with us for the month of May 2011. To be considered all you need to do is create a project based on this week's recipe, post a comment to this post by April 22nd (which is Good Friday of the Easter weekend) and we will announce the winner the following week, April 29th which is of course the Royal Wedding! Simple eh?

So what do we have up our sleeves this week?
How about this beautiful image?

Here is how the image, picked by Christine this week, inspired our designers.

Kate created this hanging sign for her kitchen.

Annette made this beautiful card featuring paper tea roses.

Ann made this layout which has a rose lace border and is along the colourlines of the original image.

We look forward to seeing your creations, and don't forget to let us know if you want to enter our guest design team call within your comments. Have a lovely weekend, lets hope the sun stays with us!

Recipe 32

Time for another recipe, and as the song by They might be Giants goes

"Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch
Who watches over you
Make a little birdhouse in your soul
Not to put too fine a point on it
Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet
Make a little birdhouse in your soul"

and I have been humming away this song every since this recipe was posted for the designers!!

Thanks to Christine for digging this one out for us! And she brings us such a cute layout inspired by the birdhouses this week.

Ann created a card this week, inspired by the occupants of the birdhouses!

And last up for this week we are sharing a rather cute birdhouse windchime Debbie created for another project a while ago but since it fits this weeks theme we thought we'd share it here too!

Happy inspired crafting once again from all of us behind the blog - we truly love seeing your work so be sure to share it with us.

EDIT: Adding Kate's lovely card featuring her hand drawn birdhouses which she created for this weeks challenge.

Recipe #31 - a day late

Apologies for being a day late with our posting, but hopefully it is scrummy enough that you'll forgive us.

If this is your first time here, WELCOME, and we hope you will return each week as we bring you an image, a "recipe" if you will, to inspire your next crafting project.

Today we bring you a cupcake notecard set image as your inspiration - calorie free, even if it may inspire a munching session as much as a crafting project!!

Christine was inspired to create this cheerful birthday card.

Annette also created a scrumptious card good enough to eat.

Mel used photo of one of her daughters with cupcakes for this lovely layout.

Louise created a tasty looking square shaped cupcake card.

And lastly from the designers this week Alana created this wonderful card featuring a hand coloured cupcake girl!

Fancy creating a cupcake inspired layout or card? Be sure to share with us if you do!
See you again next week where we will be placing a little birdhouse in your soul!

Recipe #30

Welcome back to the blog one and all, hope you are having a nice half term school holiday (if you are in the UK and on school holiday that is!)
This week we have just the ticket to get you crafting again!

We are sure that many of you will have a ticket themed item somewhere in your crafting stores, or if not, why not draw your inspiration from the layout or colours in the recipe this week.

Ann used tickets on her "Love you" layout this week, taking inspiration from the colours in our recipe too.

Annette's pretty card features a ticket embellishment

Christine also made a card this week, again featuring a ticket stamped with one of the Tim Holtz ticket images.

Last up this week, again using Tim Holtz products, is Kate's layout featuring ticket themed patterned paper.

We look forward to seeing your ticket inspired creations this week, be they scrapbook layouts, cards, bookmarks, minibook pages, art journal entries, ATCs whatever! As always be sure to leave us a comment linking to your creations and please, if you do blog, be sure to reference back to us and help spread the SOUPer cheer!

Recipe #29

It's half term and as most of our designers have children begging for that extra bit of attention we are taking a break this week from providing examples to go along with our recipe. We sure hope this doesn't deter you from being inspired to create a little something!

With so many lovely film reel products on the market, from Tim Holtz and his film strip alterations die, Bo Bunny's Mamarazzi line from 2010 and of course numerous stamps we are sure you will have something in yours stash that you can dig out to use this week!

We hope you all have a great week, and look forward to seeing you again next Friday where we have "Just the ticket" to inspire you!

Recipe #28

Wow, it's Friday again - it sure does roll around quickly doesn't it?

Hope you have all had a nice week and are looking forward to a restful weekend, maybe with some time for a nice cup of tea and some cake? That is what our image for this week made me think of straight away! Maybe it was the lovely floral china mugs that did it!

How will this recipe inspire your next crafting project? Before you decide on that, lets take a look at our designers inspiration this week.

Clare created this simple but lovely card for a certain event just around the corner!

Kate inspired by the colours and floral mugs created this lovely home decor project.

Christine was also inspired by the subtle colours in this weeks recipe to create this layout.

Alana use corrugated card on her project inspired by the wood within the recipe.

And finally for this week Annette brings us this pretty card, again inspiration coming from the subtle colours of this weeks recipe.

So what are you waiting for? Time to get creative SOUPers! See you again next week with another image to inspire a crafting project and kickstart those creative juices
