On the 11th day of Christmas

Another day closer to the big day, are you ready? Are all your gifts purchased and wrapped? Cards sent? no? Well worry not, grab yourself a cuppa and see if we can can't inspire you to make a little something to reduce that to-do list. One of the things many are doing this time of year is preparing for family visits and maybe doing a little baking? Today's recipe is sure to inspire then!

Our recipe for today represents FAMILY and Christine brings us wine-glass tags for family members.

Andrea was inspired to create this fun card.

Debbie has been baking up a storm for her family and shares a homemade gift beautifully presented.

Kate made this beautiful card adorned with a stamped tag.

And Louise also created a scrummy card for today's recipe.

Finally for today we are joined by our guest Jackie Pocock for the second time this month as she shares a festive gingerbread layout with us.

Well that's all for today, sadly tomorrow is our final day of festive inSpiration, we will see you all then.

On the 10th Day of Christmas

Welcome to the end of another week. It seems to be getting colder again and there is a definate chill in the air. Ice rinks are popping up in town centres around the country and people are digging out hats and scarves to keep them warm. Time for us scrapbookers to snap away and get some lovely wintery photographs for our albums, which brings us to today's WINTERY WEATHER prompt.

We have plenty of inspiration for you today, and hopefully you'll get some crafting time this weekend to play along with us.

Annette created this wintery card which fits both today's and yesterday's recipe

Lousette also create a wintery card.

Heather made this delightful layout - bling-tastic!!

Louise had fun inking and stamping for her wintery card.

And last up for today (but by no means least) Christine brings us this lovely layout of a most wintery scene.

We are sure there have been plenty of opportunities to take snowy photographs of late, certainly in the UK anyway, and look forward to seeing planty of wintery layouts being shared. Or maybe you will have a go at making some homemade snowflakes. Until tomorrow, happy festive crafting from all of us.

On the 9th day of Christmas

♪♫♪ Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
In the lane, snow is glistening ♪
A beautiful sight, ♪♫♪

Well after that introduction we are sure it comes as now surprise that our 9th recipe is CAROLS.
Ann made a Candle table centre piece inspired by the sheet music from todays image which also features a star base.

Annette created this scrumptious card inspired by Star and incorporating lyrics from "We three kings"

Clare recently took part in a Christmas Shrine swap and shares her creation with us today featuring the music paper and the star from the recipe.

Our guest designer today is the very lovely Sue Jones who created this lovely card for us inspired by the Carols recipe. We love the subtle music background on this card!

More of Sue's work can be found on her creative blog.

So what are you waiting for crafters? Pop on a festive dvd and take yourslef off to your creative place and be inspired!! See you again tomorrow as we enter the home stretch of 12 days of Christmas here at ChickenSoup. Don't forget you have until January 6th to play along!

On the 8th Day of Christmas

Welcome to the middle of the week everyone, not long to go until the weekend! We hope you are enjoying the inspiration so far and we can hardy believe we are at day 8 of our Christmas challenges already. Have you had much of chance, amid the crazy busy moments that are December, to play along with us yet? We are hoping you have or at least will have soon and look forward to seeing plenty more images being shared via out linky tool at the foot of each day's blog post.

It certainly seems like the shops are well and truly set for Christmas now with an abundance of delicious edibles being displayed, the likes of which you very often only see this year round. Can you tell us why sausages wrapped in bacon are so popular in December and can barely be located in a supermarket the rest of the year round?? At least trifle can be found more often (though I doubt laced with quite as much booze as the homemade versions!!) So that brings us nicely to today's inspiring image, please have your napkins ready as we prepare to make you drool! Today your festive topic and inspiration is THE CHRISTMAS DINNER!
In preparation for her Christmas dinner Clare was inspired to make these table cards for her family

Kate took her inspiration from the pudding to make this scrummy card!

The pudding within our image also took Debbies eye and she created this fab shaped card for a lucky individual.
Karen Leahy rejoins us today as our guest designer and we are thrilled to be able to share another of Karen's digital layouts with our blog readers today.

Lastly for today Ann shares with us her festive napkin rings for the dinner table on Christmas day, inspired by the colours in the recipe today and the theme of Christmas dinner.

Just four more recipe's left before we leave you all to ponder over the recipe's until 12th night rolls around on January 6th. Be sure to pop back tomorrow to see what we have in store for the 9th day which is sure to have you all singing along as you craft!

On the 7th day of Christmas

So are we looking forward to the big man coming to visit with his bag of goodies in a few weeks time? It certainly seems like shopping fever has hit with longer queues for everything at the moment - if only the jingle of bells and a ho-ho-ho was all it took for the goodies to arrive eh?! Our inspiration today comes from the top of the list when you are asked to think of something to do with Christmas (well apart from craft of course!) SANTA & RUDOLPH are the feature of our 7th day of Christmas recipe.

Will you create a scrapbook layout of a visit to Santa? or maybe create giftcards, tags or wrapping with Rudolph as your focus. Here is how the design team were inspired.

Mel shares with us a "Meeting Father Christmas" layout

Christine makes a stunning reindeer masked tag for today.

Debbie made this cheerful Rudolph card

And Heather made this delightful layout, again of a visit to the big guy.

See you again tomorrow when we bring you the 8th day of Christmas and another giveaway! Please continue to share your creations as we journey through this festive period.

On the 6th day of Christmas

Happy 6th days of December to you all, one month from today and we will be at 12th night and that is the closing day for our 12 days of Christmas challenges. We hope you are enjoying them so far. As promised over the weekend we have picked a lucky winner to receive our first spot prize and that was ALANA! Congrats Alana!! Can you email us at chickensoupdt@hotmail.co.uk with your address and we will post out your prize!

It certainly seems like this weekend was a popular weekend for climbing in the loft space and digging out your tree and baubles, which brings us nicely to todays prompt, DECORATIONS!

Heather created this landscape card featuring three baubles as per the recipe

Mandy made this fabulous bauble a la Tim Holtz Style!

Clare made an eyecatching festive bunting using circle and star punches

Ann created a 3d frame in the style of a Christmas wreath to decorate her home.

Debbie also used punches, oval shaped ones, to create this great bauble card

And finally for today Mel got very creative with some Elizabeth Shaw mint crisp chocolates and used them as a bauble on her fantastic card! (I am so borrowing this idea! - one for the card, one for me!)
That brings us to the half way mark for our 12 days of inspiration. Please keep sharing your projects - we especially look forward to seeing some handmade decorations or home decor items for today's recipe! Until tomorrow crafters!
